Brian K. Long is a proud native of Durham, North Carolina. He is a Program Manager as a Procurement Analyst and Compliance Officer at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). He is the Program Manager for the National Purchase Card and Convenience Check Program, leading a staff of 9 individuals, and overseeing the operations of the use of the purchase card and checks for 1300 cardholders and 600 approving officials throughout the 10 regional offices and the headquarters office of EPA. Mr. Long has many leadership roles at EPA to include a National Program Manager, Branch Manager, member of the Office of Mission Support (OMS) Reorganization Implementation Council, Chairman of the OMS Liaison Subcommittee, and Co-Chairman of the OMS Communication Subcommittee.
Mr. Long received a Bachelor of Arts degree (English/Speech Communications) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1988, a Master of Public Administration from North Carolina Central University in 1991. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Charles Drew Memorial Scholarship Foundationin as Secretary of the Board. He is an active member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. Additionally, Mr. Long has obtained numerous awards and recognition throughout his professional career and fraternal civic affiliations.
Mr. Long is a loving husband and father of two children (teenagers). He prides himself in bringing the right enthusiasm into the equation. He is a highly competent manager, who can motivate employees and co-workers and to put forth excellent interrelationship skills, cognitive skills to work, and serve as a multi-tasker.
