Brett Blake is a proud native of Washington, D.C., formally raised in Georgia. By trade he is a retired Contracting Acquisition professional. He retired from the federal government after serving 31 years in the Contracting field. He retired from the U.S. Capitol Police as the Director of the Acquisition Management, during his time in government he also worked at the Comptroller of the Currency, Department of the Treasury, and the Internal Revenue Service serving in various leadership roles. Prior to joining the federal government, Brett spent time in working in private industry working in various financial capacities for such companies as Citibank, Motorola, and the Pentagon Federal Credit Union.
Brett received a Bachelor of Science degree (Business Management) from Hampton Institute in 1982, a Master of Business Administration degree in Financial Management from Southeastern University in 1987. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Charles Drew Memorial Scholarship Fund. As currently the Chairman of the Fund / Board of Directors and a proud and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.
Brett is a son, a loving father of two children, and is happily married to his wife Karen for 36 years. He considers himself as a principled man focusing on uplifting the community through scholarship and perseverance.
