Dear Esteemed Attendees,

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all who graced us with their presence at the 2nd Annual Charles Drew Memorial Scholarship Banquet, hosted by the Charles Drew Memorial Scholarship Fund (CDMSF). Your participation contributed immensely to the success of this esteemed gathering.

Held on May 25th, from 12 – 3 pm, at the prestigious National Wildlife Visitor Center in Laurel, MD, the banquet served as a platform to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the Project ENRICH students and program, alongside honoring 20 outstanding seniors from Prince George’s County high schools.

I am thrilled to announce that this year, CDMSF had the privilege of awarding 20 scholarships, each valued at $3000, to deserving recipients of the CDMSF Scholarship. Notably, among these recipients were four exceptional seniors from our Project ENRICH programs.

During the program, we had the privilege of acknowledging individuals who have made significant contributions to our cause. The award recipients were as follows:

  • Keynote Speaker Award: Mr. Jahliel Thurman

  • Directors Award: Ms. Becky Bitar

  • School of the Year: Frederick Douglass High School

  • Parent of the Year: Ms. Tara Omotosho

  • Student of the Year: Cameron Perkins

A special acknowledgment is owed to Brothers Maurice Calhoun, Howard Nicholas, Tyrone Ruffin, & Reggie Thomas, whose generous donations significantly enriched the inaugural Silence Auction. Their unwavering commitment and efforts in ensuring the success of this event did not go unnoticed. Thank you, Brothers, for your invaluable contributions.

Once again, I extend my sincerest appreciation to each and every one of you for your unwavering support and participation in making the 2nd Annual Charles Drew Memorial Scholarship Banquet a resounding success.

Warm Regards,

George R. Montgomery, PhD
